In the celebration of 50th birthday of Barbie, it was preplanned to launch it in India. In this prestigious occasion Katrina Kaif Barbie doll was first pointed in pink Barbie dress with stilettos and a high pony tail tied neatly at the back, with a small flick of hair falling like the fringe on her delicate forehead, walking in London Fashion Week in 2009.
On 4th may, 2011, Katrina launched the most awaited Barbie doll of the year-“Barbie I can be a movie star” inspired by superstar Ms. Katrina Kaif at a Barbie pink carpet event at Mumbai. This “Barbie I can be a movie star” came with a motivating message for girls where Barbie exemplifies the aspiration and career of being a movie stat, with style, glamour.

At the launched of Barbie, Kat reacted in excitement and expressed “I am thrilled and excited at having the ‘I Can Be a Movie Star’ Barbie Doll inspired by me. It is almost unbelievable, that a doll that I grew up playing with is one day going to take after me, seem like me. Barbie is not just another Doll; she is one of the most popular characters in the world who is a fashionista and has a flourishing career. It is an absolute honor to be associated with Barbie.
